Jun 11, 2022 – MacroMinds Raises $475,000 to Support Student Education through its 2022 Investment Symposium

MacroMinds, a foundation launched to support student education, announced that its 2022 investment symposium has raised $475,000.  The event drew more than 60 sponsors and 200 attendees.  The net proceeds support three beneficiaries, Rock the Street Wall Street, Big Brothers Big Sisters NYC and The Valerie Fund, helping them execute on their important missions.  “Our theme for the event was Causes, Content and Collaboration”, said Dean Curnutt, the founder of the MacroMinds Foundation.  “On all three counts, the symposium was a resounding success. April 7, 2021 – FirstBank Joins With Rock The Street, Wall Street To Increase Financial Literacy, Interest in Banking Careers Among Young Female Students

FirstBank is joining forces with Rock The Street, Wall Street in support of the nonprofit organization’s mission to increase interest among female high school students in pursuing careers in banking and finance and to improve their overall financial literacy skills.

FirstBank President and CEO Chris Holmes kicked off the partnership by presenting a check to Ashley Leftwich, Partner Engagement Manager of Rock The Street, Wall Street. The presentation was made as part of Tennessee Financial Literacy Week, held this year April 5–9.

The organization was founded in Nashville, Tenn., by CEO Maura Cunningham in 2013, and since that time, it has established programs in 17 cities across the country and will see significant growth in the 2021–22 academic year. Rock The Street, Wall Street provides a yearlong financial and investment literacy program for girls, and uses female volunteers to teach financial education and make presentations about career opportunities to high school girls in under-represented communities.

“Rock The Street, Wall Street is honored to begin our relationship with first-time sponsor FirstBank for the 2021–22 academic year,” Cunningham said. “Many girls adjust their college searches and their career direction after completing our program, and FirstBank will help to change the trajectories for many high school girls in Nashville.”

March 22, 2021 – Rocking Wall Street with WIN

This past year, CME Group Foundation partnered with Rock the Street, Wall Street, a national organization that leverages women volunteers to teach financial education and career opportunities to high school girls in under-represented communities. The Foundation enlisted CME Group’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) employee networking group to find employee mentors for the teenagers. The group recently wrapped up the last session of their fall program and are thrilled to report that the students improved their financial and investment literacy skills by 80%.

A kickoff event for the upcoming spring program was held in early February to introduce the new students to their WIN mentors. Students also had an opportunity to hear firsthand accounts about what it’s like to work at the company and in the financial industry.

March 11, 2021 – State Farm® Presents Rock The Street, Wall Street with a $15,000 Grant

 

 Rock The Street, Wall Street is the recipient of a $15,000 grant from State Farm Insurance. The grant will be used to include approximately 20-30 Middle Tennessee high school girls in the Rock The Street, Wall Street year-long academic program during the 2021-2022 academic year.

This is the sixth year State Farm has awarded Rock The Street, Wall Street with a grant. Through the RTSWS program, State Farm agents are provided with the opportunity to get involved in the local community and mentor high school students.

“We are thrilled to partner once again with State Farm in Tennessee. Over the years we’ve come to know their agents and likewise they have come to know us in the Middle Tennessee area. Each of their agents are making an impact on our students’ financial futures.  March 10, 2021 – Rising Together: Celebrating 30 Years of Supporting Women Financial Advisors

30 years ago, a handful of women in financial advisory and institutional sales roles at Dain Bosworth – now RBC Wealth Management US – started a grassroots movement to improve the opportunities for women within the firm and the industry. This year is an anniversary of progress and momentum.

Three decades later, the Women’s Association of Financial Advisors (WAFA) has grown from a small group of women to an RBC Employee Resource Group (ERG) of over 300 members. And although times have changed and progress has been made, there is still work to do. As such, WAFA’s mission remains unwavering – to support the recruitment, retention, productivity and advancement of women financial advisors and branch directors.

October 3, 2020 –  Rock The Street, Wall Street, a nonprofit organization that provides a year-long financial and investment literacy program for girls, is expanding its footprint to 31 high schools across 18 U.S. cities for the 2020-21 academic year. April 21, 2021 – Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson Named FWSF Woman of the Year for Helping Women Break the Glass Ceiling in Finance

 Financial Women of San Francisco (FWSF), a 400-member organization of professionals in finance and financial services, today named Jenny Johnson, President and CEO of Franklin Templeton, their 2021 Financial Woman of the Year (FWOTY), honoring her as a changemaker who has not only reached the top position at one of the world’s leading global investment firms, but also has helped other women in finance break through the glass ceiling.

Under Johnson’s leadership, Franklin Templeton is advancing its efforts toward achieving gender equality in the financial services industry. In addition to increasing the number of partnerships with organizations that encourage young women to consider the financial services industry, such as Girls Who Invest; and Rock the Street, Wall Street, she is also passionate about investing in women-owned businesses. April 7, 2021 – FirstBank Joins With Rock The Street, Wall Street To Increase Financial Literacy, Interest in Banking Careers Among Young Female Students

FirstBank is joining forces with Rock The Street, Wall Street in support of the nonprofit organization’s mission to increase interest among female high school students in pursuing careers in banking and finance and to improve their overall financial literacy skills.

FirstBank President and CEO Chris Holmes kicked off the partnership by presenting a check to Ashley Leftwich, Partner Engagement Manager of Rock The Street, Wall Street. The presentation was made as part of Tennessee Financial Literacy Week, held this year April 5–9.

The organization was founded in Nashville, Tenn., by CEO Maura Cunningham in 2013, and since that time, it has established programs in 17 cities across the country and will see significant growth in the 2021–22 academic year. Rock The Street, Wall Street provides a yearlong financial and investment literacy program for girls, and uses female volunteers to teach financial education and make presentations about career opportunities to high school girls in under-represented communities.

“Rock The Street, Wall Street is honored to begin our relationship with first-time sponsor FirstBank for the 2021–22 academic year,” Cunningham said. “Many girls adjust their college searches and their career direction after completing our program, and FirstBank will help to change the trajectories for many high school girls in Nashville.”

March 31, 2021 – Franklin Templeton Sponsors LPGA Star Nelly Korda

SAN MATEO, Calif.- Franklin Templeton today announced its sponsorship of Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) star Nelly Korda, winner of the LPGA’s Gainbridge Tournament. March 22, 2021 – Rocking Wall Street with WIN

This past year, CME Group Foundation partnered with Rock the Street, Wall Street, a national organization that leverages women volunteers to teach financial education and career opportunities to high school girls in under-represented communities. The Foundation enlisted CME Group’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) employee networking group to find employee mentors for the teenagers. The group recently wrapped up the last session of their fall program and are thrilled to report that the students improved their financial and investment literacy skills by 80%.

A kickoff event for the upcoming spring program was held in early February to introduce the new students to their WIN mentors. Students also had an opportunity to hear firsthand accounts about what it’s like to work at the company and in the financial industry.

March 11, 2021 – State Farm® Presents Rock The Street, Wall Street with a $15,000 Grant

 

 Rock The Street, Wall Street is the recipient of a $15,000 grant from State Farm Insurance. The grant will be used to include approximately 20-30 Middle Tennessee high school girls in the Rock The Street, Wall Street year-long academic program during the 2021-2022 academic year.

This is the sixth year State Farm has awarded Rock The Street, Wall Street with a grant. Through the RTSWS program, State Farm agents are provided with the opportunity to get involved in the local community and mentor high school students.

“We are thrilled to partner once again with State Farm in Tennessee. Over the years we’ve come to know their agents and likewise they have come to know us in the Middle Tennessee area. Each of their agents are making an impact on our students’ financial futures. We hope to continue and to grow our relationship with State Farm throughout the country,” said Maura Cunningham, Founder and CEO of Rock The Street, Wall Street.

 March 10, 2021 – Rising Together: Celebrating 30 Years of Supporting Women Financial Advisors

30 years ago, a handful of women in financial advisory and institutional sales roles at Dain Bosworth – now RBC Wealth Management US – started a grassroots movement to improve the opportunities for women within the firm and the industry. This year is an anniversary of progress and momentum.

Three decades later, the Women’s Association of Financial Advisors (WAFA) has grown from a small group of women to an RBC Employee Resource Group (ERG) of over 300 members. And although times have changed and progress has been made, there is still work to do. As such, WAFA’s mission remains unwavering – to support the recruitment, retention, productivity and advancement of women financial advisors and branch directors.

 January 22, 2021 – An RTSWS alumna who now attends Cornell University is bringing the organizations together for a wonderful career preparedness event that took place January 16-17. 33 RTSWS students attended.

 
The Young Researchers Program at Cornell U invited Rock The Street Wall Street students to participate in a series that exposes students to different areas of research and professions, including finance.
The Young Researchers Program invited Cornell alumni from a variety of careers – ranging from aerospace engineers to financial advisors – as part of their winter lecture series throughout the weekend of January 16-17. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to get a head start in learning about potential careers they may want to pursue in the future as well as an event they may want to include on their college admissions application or their resumes.

October 3, 2020 –  Rock The Street, Wall Street, a nonprofit organization that provides a year-long financial and investment literacy program for girls, is expanding its footprint to 31 high schools across 18 U.S. cities for the 2020-21 academic year. August 18, 2020 – Invesco Releases 2019 Corporate Social Responsibility Report Highlighting Progress and Renewed Focus. “Through Invesco’s U.S. corporate sponsorship with Rock The Street, Wall Street at Stuyvesant High School, female executives from across Invesco led weekly classroom-based workshops and will provide ongoing mentorship.
