MAURA CUNNINGHAM, FOUNDER & CEO
Maura Cunningham is dedicated to closing the racial and gender wealth gaps as well as the opportunity gap that exists today. Determined to make this vision a reality, Maura combined her entrepreneurial skills and her passion for working with teenage students and she went on to found Rock The Street, Wall Street, (RTSWS) in 2012. RTSWS sparks girls’ enthusiasm for finance at a critical age and makes them aware of the societal benefits personal financial knowledge and math-oriented careers
can have.
RTSWS is one of the fastest growing non-profits focused on the M of STEM in the nation. It has been recognized by The White House, Catalyst, Nasdaq, Womens Bond Club of New York and The Today Show for its goals to engineer social and industrial change.
Maura has been committed to working with under-served girls for over a decade. Maura is helping girls view math-focused fields of study as compatible with a career that has a positive impact on the world. RTSWS sparks girls’ enthusiasm for finance at a critical age and makes them aware of the societal benefits personal financial knowledge and math-oriented careers can have.
Maura began her career on Wall Street with Merrill Lynch. After a successful 25 year career in finance, Maura turned her full attention to creating opportunities for others.
Before committing herself full time to RTSWS, she worked in Capital Markets, Real Estate Syndication, Mortgage Backed Securities and financial and wealth management. She stays current with the markets by continuing to trade options.

She specializes in speaking about how we lose girls in the M in STEM and on how we can better engage girls in math and on how the financial services industry can more successfully recruit the young women of today.
