A recent CFA Institute study found that women in Australia’s finance sector are less likely to receive unsolicited promotions than men. However, when women request promotions, they have a higher success rate.
The study calls for standardized promotion policies to address systemic gender bias, as unsolicited promotions contribute to a financial advantage for men. CFA Institute aims to support the industry in reducing inequities through its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Code.
